Further steps after signup clarification

Hi,

I've just signup for the developer account and then I received this email:

You are now a part of the growing community of 3000+ explorers passionate about discovering the myriad insights masked in our DNA!

If you already have your DNA data,
Upload now and try out GENOME LINK Free immediately:

How do I download my data from 23andMe? »
How do I download my data from Ancestry.com? »

My question: Is it necessary to upload my DNA data (which I currently don't have) to use the free dev account and participate in this Hackathon? Or is this step merely optional? Please clarify.

    Hi Jesus,

    In response to your question: You do not need to own or upload your DNA data to use the free developer account and participate in the Hackathon.

    You have received that email because you registered for an account from our consumer product website. GENOME LINK provides a consumer product to visualize and learn about their genome for people who already have their DNA data.

    Please make sure to register for a dev account from the Login tab at the top-right of https://genomelink.io/developers/

    Is there any dummy-dna-data or GENOME LINK demo account for testing?
    It's hard to test the app usability without simulating the user experience when using the service and the app that developer create.
